Now that colleges and universities have engaged in the assessment of learning outcomes across campus, they are encountering two distinct challenges: first, what to do with all the data collected; and second, how to organize various kinds of assessment data in order to analyze and make meaning from them. This session provides a non-technical, user-level overview of how colleges are employing data systems to collect, organize, and present learning evidence in order to facilitate closing of the assessment loop. You will also learn about prompting questions that can stimulate application of insights developed from the analysis and sense-making step to guide improvements in the instructional program. Using examples from two different systems, the presenters also offer suggestions on how to choose and implement a data system for your campus.
