The conference theme, "Sustainability and the Community beyond the Campus,"essentially encapsulates the theme for this poster: Guam Community College's contribution to the sustainability of the economy on Guam and across Micronesia. With a mission to be the leader in career and technical workforce development in Micronesia, the College is in an excellent position to build, develop, and strengthen the region's workforce, providing skilled technicians for the military buildup slated to occur from 2010 through 2014. This poster illustrates the value of community relationships built on trust and goodwill. Our programs foster apprenticeship, adult education, and college access, as well as partnerships with a local trades academy, the public school (K-12) system, and the University of Guam. As we work in these ways, we are improving awareness of the College and increasing public support for its vision.
