Brandman University students undergo comprehensive assessment of their professional competence. There are assignments embedded in coursework, a capstone project, and an exit portfolio. Term papers are required in most classes. Case studies allow assessment of a candidatet's ability to compile information and develop a report explaining the nature of the problem, analysis of the data, implications, and recommendations for action. Fieldwork is infused throughoutthe curriculum. Students are also required to take the Praxis examination, which serves as a culminating exam for either the MA or Ed.S degree. The final activity for all students is an exit interview, in which students respond to questions about their coursework and present their portfolio. The interview is typically conducted by several staff members and has produced information useful for decision-making and program improvement. Join us for a discussion of specific findings and responses.
