As higher education's response to environmental sustainability evolves, institutions, communities, and employers are all seeking avenues for collective action. The Green Demonstration Program provides a platform for bridging these populations. .By creating a Sustainable Showcase, students, staff and industry collaborate to ‘green' a demonstration space on campus, spotlighting local products and services. Students and staff implement an Energy Technology and Behavioral Pilot, monitor real-time energy consumption, and participate in a month-long energy savings competition. Campus members and local industry explore what it means to live sustainably by becoming familiar with sustainable solutions, and by launching an area Green Retailer Coupon Program that connects campus and community members with environmentally preferable, local product and service providers. In this session, Strategic Energy Innovations staff and university partners will present on recent, successful efforts.
