Two independent institutions - Marymount College and Chapman University -- will discuss how they undertook significant transformation. While they faced different kinds of change, their challenges were similar and the key to success for each was the development of a process that would sustain a new environment. Financial issues, governance, and impact on the community (both internal -students and faculty - and external) are some of the topics to be discussed. In both cases, the outcome is a transformed institution with the stability to continue along the new path that it has charted. Presenters will highlight both the similarities and the differences in their specific plans, and the session will provide plenty of ideas on how to initiate and advance positive institutional change.
