How can a campus sustain momentum for assessment after WASC accreditation - espeically in tough economic times? Our solution is to simplify and focus assessment by integrating the Bologna Process and AAC&U's VALUE rubrics, systematically linking GE, undergraduate major, and master's programs. Too often, GE, majors, and graduate programs are compartmentalized, with different learning goals, policies, committees, and faculty members in charge. The Bologna Process's Framework for Qualifications, however, ties these three levels of study together with explicit outcomes for each level. In this session, we share the work of the Sociology Department, College of Social Sciences, and Interdisciplinary Studies. Our common approach makes assessment more meaningful and easier to implement and understand.
