Finding resources to support assessment has never been easy, but now it's more challenging than ever. In this session, UC Merced representatives will focus on faculty workload issues and the problem of sustaining faculty engagement within the infrastructure for assessment that has recently been created. at this new research university. At John F. Kennedy University, assessment and program review are part of the culture; all programs complete an annual learning results report, and two thirds of programs have conducted a program self-study. JFKU representatives will explore plans for keeping these practices at the core of academic work in the midst of competing priorities and limited resources. California State University, Monterey Bay, recently completed a three-year study examining the resource needs of capstones and the implications for sustainability. CSUMB's representatives will share the findings, which reveal key requirements for sustaining effective capstones and supporting student success.
